Within the grounds of the noble 17th Villa Castelbarco, itself built on an ancient abbey, this country hotel is surrounded by stunning woodland. Perfectly located, the hotel is only 40 minutes East of central Milan.
The extended area in eastern Lombardy between Milan and Bergamo is known as the "Martesana" and is famous for its production of meats and cheeses, especially gorgonzola, dishes such as polenta and DOC wines such as Valcalepio.
Adjacent to the incredible Villa Castelbarco, the hotel boasts cosy, en-suite rooms with wooden beams, a restaurant and bar, social spaces, a Baltic sauna and outdoor covered portico for relaxing.
The recently refurbished and wonderfully finished rooms are all en-suite and provide all the comforts one could expect from a hotel of this standard including flatscreen TV, complimentary toiletries, minibar and safe.
The Country Hotel Castelbarco offers an incredible opportunity to sample the local cuisine. The talented catering team offer tempting dishes using the best of local ingredients, paired with some of the region’s best wines.
The stunning 75 hectare woodland offers a rich variety of flora and fauna including numerous deer, red squirrels and birds. The fresh air offers an incredible opportunity for walks, despite being a stone's throw from Milan.
