The English Bubble: how it works and why
Language acquisition research is clear on one thing: the brain learns a language fastest when it has no other option. Not through grammar drills or vocabulary lists — but through genuine, repeated, meaningful use.
The English Bubble is the immersive environment our method creates. From the first morning to the last evening, English is the only language available. There is no Italian escape route. Students stop translating and start operating directly in English — usually within 48 to 72 hours of arrival.
The academic term is comprehensible input combined with forced output. The lived experience is: breakfast with someone from Edinburgh, a One-to-One session with someone from Boston, a team game with someone from Dublin — all before lunch.
Three things that change in one week
These are not promises. They are the patterns reported by parents and students after every camp since 2018.
Confidence
Students who arrived reluctant to open their mouths come home initiating conversations in English — with teachers, with tourists, with anyone who will listen. The change is visible and immediate.
Communication
Eight days of constant practice across meals, lessons, activities and one-to-one sessions builds the kind of fluency that classroom hours alone cannot replicate. Speaking speed, spontaneity and accuracy all improve.
Comprehension
Spending a week alongside Anglos from the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada and Australia trains the ear in a way no audio track ever could. Students leave with a flexible ear and — often — a noticeably improved accent.
The session where everything clicks
Once a day, every student has a dedicated One-to-One session with a Teen Anglo. Just the two of them. No audience, no group to hide behind.
This is where the real shift happens. In a group, students can stay quiet. In a One-to-One, they cannot — and that gentle pressure, in a relaxed and friendly setting, is exactly what triggers the leap in speaking confidence that parents notice when students come home.
The Anglo rotates daily. By the end of the week, every student has had a dedicated conversation with multiple native speakers from different countries and with different accents.

“I strongly recommend this experience. From a linguistic point of view it achieved results I still can’t quite believe. Now among her peers she is considered ‘the one who knows English’.” Mena Vicaretti — Parent
