What is a Teen Anglo?

Your language. Their confidence.

A Teen Anglo is a native English speaker aged 13–17 from the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada or Australia who joins the Speak Teens Summer Camp in Italy as a language partner for Italian teenagers.

Italian teens come to Speak Teens to practise their English in a real, immersive environment. You are the reason that works. By simply chatting, joining in and being yourself, you give them something no classroom can — a conversation with someone their own age who actually speaks English as their first language.

You are part conversation partner, part camp participant, and entirely yourself. There is no teaching. There are no lesson plans. There is just a week of real life in English, side by side.

Your role

What does being a Teen Anglo actually involve?

Your days are full — but they are full of things teenagers actually enjoy.

One-to-One conversations

Twice each morning, you are paired with a Learner for a structured but natural conversation session. Talk about hobbies, your life back home, films, sport — whatever comes up.

Group activities and sports

Afternoons are packed with activities, team challenges and sports on-site. Everything happens in English, and you are part of every session alongside the Italian teens.

Evening events

Every evening finishes with a whole-group event: night treks, outdoor cinema, astronomy, campfire socials, talent nights and more.

Anglo workshop sessions

Each day includes a dedicated Anglo session — a space to reflect on the day, share what has worked, get tips from the team and prepare for upcoming activities.

Full-day excursion

Every camp includes one full-day excursion to a local destination.

Life at camp

Meals are shared, free time is shared, and the camp runs from first breakfast to lights off as a community.
