The Abbazia di Spineto is located in the province of Siena in southern Tuscany, near the border with Lazio and Umbria on the edge of the UNESCO world heritage site of the Val d’Orcia, an area rich in art and history.
The area boasts an incredible array of historic towns and sites of interest as well as world famous local produce and DOC wines including Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
The Abbey offers an incredible array of living and social spaces along with a ballroom, library, games and reading areas and working kitchens displaying original implements and olive press, wood fires and pantries.
The Abbey offers unique and beautifully decorated rooms. All rooms are en-suite and offer comfort of the highest quality as well as fascinating objects, artefacts and books from the Abbey's vast collection.
The Abbey offers a range of spaces for dining in the most suggestive of surroundings. Its traditional dining areas, kitchen spaces and local ingredients from the Abbey's own orchard and gardens give guests a real sense of Tuscan culinary heritage.
The grounds of the Abbey spread over eight hundred hectares, providing ample space for strolling and enjoying the stunning views down into the valley below and a rich variety of woodland, orchards and farm land, typical of the Tuscan landscape.
Anglos are invited to an orientation aperitif in central Florence on the evening before the Programme for a chance to meet the other Anglos.
The next morning, the Programme begins with a welcome breakfast, together with the Italian participants at the Meeting Point before taking a transfer together to the venue in time for check-in and lunch.
On the final morning of the Programme, all participants will have lunch before departing together, returning to the Departure Point in Florence in the late afternoon.
