Spedale del Bigallo

Location

The Antico Spedale del Bigallo is a striking Medieval structure that is now a residential hospitality location 15 minutes to the East of Florence. It offers incredible views overlooking the beautiful city below. 

Local Culture

Florence needs little introduction as one of the world's most famous cities of art. A centre of enourmous cultural, artistic and political influence, particularly during the Reniassance, it is surrounded by rolling hills and small villages.

Facilities

The Antico Spedale del Bigallo is the perfect location for an immersion Campus offering a range of different communal spaces for activities and workshops, beautiful gardens, meals, drinks and social spaces.

Rooms

The Spedale has large and spacious dormitories with specially designed renaissance beds created by a local craftsman. Each bed has its own storage space with each dormitory equipped with shared bathrooms with showers.

Dining

The Spedale serves the best of simple local Tuscan cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients from the surrounding area. The catering team can also provide alternative menus in the case of allergies or intolerances.

Outdoor Spaces

Surrounded by a beautiful enclosed garden, the Spedale offers green spaces and shady areas perfect for language immersion. The outdoor spaces also include a Panoramic Terrace offering stunning views across Florence.

• Immersion Campus Anglos will be welcomed in the meeting point city, Florence, on the day before the Campus. We will a provide a private transfer to the location that evening and board and accomodation at the Spedale from that night until lunch on the final day.

• The next day will begin with an orientation for our Anglos and the Italian Learners will arrive after lunch. The Programme begins with a Welcome and Ice-Breaker with our Italian particpants.

• On the final day of the Campus, all Anglos will depart together on our private transfer after lunch, returning to the Departure Point in central Florence.
