The English Campus for Music and Songwriting is a free 5-night summer programme in Italy for university and college students (aged 18 – 30). The Campus brings native English speakers like you, our “Anglos”, volunteers from all around the world, together with Italian students who are looking to improve their fluency and confidence in English, in a wonderful location in Tuscany, just outside Florence.
The Anglos and the Italian students, our Learners, live alongside each other, creating an English immersion experience where Learners spend every moment of the day in a dynamic environment of natural English conversation. Our Campus is a unique linguistic, social and cultural experience as part of an innovative and exciting programme that is stimulating and fun, with no preparation on your part – all you need to do is speak English!
We are looking for English-speaking students from around the world to volunteer with us as Anglos. We welcome applications from any study background and are particularly interested in Anglos who are studying or have experience in creative subjects such as music performance, music production, songwriting, performing arts or related fields.

We focus on the language skills of speaking and listening through natural conversation, supported by lessons and workshops led by our experienced teaching team. Through a series of one-to-one conversations, social time and a range of activities, games and practical challenges, you will be helping Italians to develop their English fluency and confidence naturally.
The social experience is an important part of every day of the Campus - whether enjoying a delicious meal, sharing a coffee break, walking in the gardens, participating in activities and games or just relaxing together during social time. In the evenings, there’ll be events and further opportunities to enjoy this unique social and cultural experience.
A historical building on the outskirts of Florence, the L’Antico Spedale del Bigallo dates back to the 13th century and has been tastefully restored, offering a unique location surrounded by beautiful gardens with a panoramic terrace overlooking the city below. Bigallo offers various spaces for creative and cultural activities, meetings and workshops.
Learners at the Campus are young people in higher education music study programmes which include music performance, production, songwriting, mixing, sound engineering at Music Academies around Italy.
Our Italian Learners are coming to Speak specifically to improve their competence and confidence in speaking and listening through natural conversations with native English speakers, helping them develop their English skills for their future careers.
